Building Tomorrow's Energy Communities: Monarch's Growing Impact Across Rural America

Monarch Bioenergy is providing education and opportunities in different communities in rural America.  So far in 2025, we have reached over 600 students, awarding $17,000 in scholarships, and continuing to forge community partnerships.

Science Meets Community: Environmental Excellence

Our renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities do more than produce clean energy; they create opportunities in our communities for jobs and education.

The Next Generation Energy Workforce

Education is our cornerstone for community growth. In North Carolina, we’ve engaged over 600 students through career programs, from elementary field trips to high school fairs.

Our March 20th Duplin County Women in Agriculture Workshop, attended by 200 middle and high school girls, advanced STEM education and highlighted agriculture careers. Students connected classroom learning to real-world projects, such as our Register 1 biogas initiative, thereby fostering sustainable local economies.

Our scholarship program, with $17,000 awarded so far this year—including $15,000 across Northampton and Duplin Counties—fuels future leaders.  We aim to increase our community engagement and offer more scholarships as the year progresses and beyond.

Strategic Community Partnerships

We address critical community needs beyond energy. Sponsoring Duplin County’s inaugural Wellness Fair addressed health challenges such as diabetes and obesity, while quarterly fairs foster lasting connections with residents. We appreciate the local media coverage that amplifies our impact.

In Northampton County, our support for the senior center enables volunteers to deliver meals and supplies to isolated seniors, addressing rural demographic realities. These efforts strengthen community resilience and showcase our commitment to our neighbors.

Expanding Footprint

Our Missouri and Kansas projects scale our community model. The Somerset and Ellis projects support youth athletics and restore science labs with a $2,000 donation, while Texhoma’s funding for gifted student field trips invests in academic excellence. At Monarch, we strive to support the communities we work with, extending our efforts beyond building new renewable natural gas facilities.

Looking Forward: Continued Community Integration

Our 2025 second-quarter highlights show growing momentum. Three interns, including our first Midwest participant, mark the program expansion. Recognition from the Sampson County School Board and the town commissioner is a small example of how we strive to deepen our partnerships.

The Monarch Model: Energy as Community Development

We believe that educational investments build a strong workforce. New infrastructure supports community needs. Environmental improvements deliver enhanced sustainability in our communities.

Successful energy transitions are most effective when they have community buy-in and produce tangible benefits. Today’s students at our career fairs become tomorrow’s project managers and community leaders. We invite you to explore our partnerships at www.monarchbio.com/community to join us in building stronger rural communities.

As we expand, Monarch is leveraging our focus on building natural gas energy pipelines and infrastructure as a catalyst for helping certain economies in rural America—one scholarship, one internship, and one partnership at a time.
